Love dining at the Costco food court? Here is how you make the most of their limited fast food menu.
Costco has a food menu that has remained mostly the same over the years, with their best selling $1.50 Hot Dog + Soda combo.
To keep things interesting, we have found several food hacks that you should try.

Costco Food Hacks + Secret Menu Items
#1 Make Costco Kimchi
Doesn’t really taste like kimchi at all, but for all my sauce-crazed readers, here is the recipe for you to try.
Recipe for Costco Kimchi:
- 3 cups diced onions (if available)
- 2 pumps of ketchup
- 1 pump of mustard
- 1/2 pump of relish
- 2 packs of pepper flakes
Mix all the ingredients in a cup and slather it onto your glizzy. Do we like?
#2 Just Add Rotisserie Chicken
I always walk out with a $4.99 rotisserie chicken. It’s weird if I don’t.
Head over to the food court and add some chicken to ANY of their food items for extra protein.

#3 Chicken Bake + Hot Dog = CHOT DOG!
Get a chicken bake and split it down the middle with a plastic Costco knife. Add the hot dog, and voila, you got the Chot Dog!
It’s a bit too chewy and bulky for my small mouth, but good for people who are HUNGRY.
#4 Pig in a Pizza Blanket
Remove the hot dog from the bun and roll it into a slice of pizza. Opt for pepperoni for more flavor.
#5 Root Beer Float
Fill your soda cup halfway with your favorite soda (we like Diet Coke) and then scoop 1 to 2 spoons of ice cream into your cup. Keep an eye on your cup to ensure it doesn’t overflow.
We love the creaminess of ice cream and texure of carbonated soda.
#6 DIY Affagato
We love adding our favorite brew to a Costco soft serve ice cream.
It’s an extra step to make your own brews, but as someone who loves food hacking, this is worth the extra effort!
Some flavors we’ve experimented with include:
- Thai Tea + Vanilla Soft Serve
- Matcha + Vanilla Soft Serve (mix the matcha powder with water before adding)
- Black Coffee + Vanilla Soft Serve
- Hot Chocolate + Mint Soft Serve
#7 Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cold Brew Mocha
Before purchasing, KINDLY ask the employee behind the counter if they would be willing to add both the strawberry compote AND chocolate syrup to your Cold Brew Mocha Freeze. I love this flavor combo!
You can also ask for strawberry syrup on the side.
#8 Chocolate Covered Strawberry Sundae
Alternatively, you can ask for both chocolate and strawberry syrup added to your vanilla soft serve. And it’s caffeine-free!
#9 Crumble a Cookie into Your Sundae
If you want an extra-sweet treat, buy a chocolate chip cookie and crumble it over your sundae. Yum!
